VOLBELLA®
Juvéderm Volbella® is a naturally based filler composed of hyaluronic acid (HA) and lidocaine. Since hyaluronic acid biologically occurs in the body, the body naturally accepts it when administered. It is an FDA-approved treatment to subtly enhance your mouth and lip region.
How does Volbella® work?
Volbella® is a unique formulation tailored to add subtle volume to the lips and smooth the appearance of vertical lip lines in and around the lips, creating a shiny and smooth fullness. After the treatment, the HA formula continues to attract and retain moisture, providing impressive results which last for about a year.
Who should not get Volbella®?
Patients with severe allergies to hyaluronic based fillers or lidocaine mixed in the filler, a history of anaphylaxis, an active infection near the site of injection and women who are currently pregnant and/or breastfeeding should not receive Volbella®.
What should I know before my Volbella® treatment?
Patients should stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil supplements for two weeks prior to injection, to decrease your risk of bruising at the injection site. We suggest that our patients take Arnica two days prior to treatment.
Is there any downtime after my Volbella® treatment?
Although there is no real downtime for our patients, it is recommended to avoid strenuous activity 24 hours following the injection.
What are some of the possible side effects of Volbella®?
Potential side effects for our patients include: injection-site redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, discoloration, and itching.
What should I expect after my Volbella® treatment?
Our patients should see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas. Most patients need one treatment to achieve optimal results.
How long will my Volbella® treatment last?
Our patients should experience results for up to a year with Volbella®.
